By CAR
From the motorway follow the signs to the “GRA”, take exit “Via Tuscolana” towards the center, and go straight until the intersection with “Via Gela”. Turn left via Gela at the traffic lights and turn left again in “Via Appia Nuova”, taking the right. Take the first on the right, “Circonvallazione Appia”, then left in “via Tola”, and left again in “Via Paolo Paruta”.
The District Appio Latino develops from the Aurelian Walls to Appia Antica, from Via Appia Nuova to Cecilia Metella. It includes part of the Archaeological Park of Appia Antica and the entire Caffarella Valley.
The nerve center of the neighborhood is the square “Re di Roma”, with its wide choice of shops (bars, restaurants, pizzerias, wine bars, shops, supermarkets, libraries, historical workshops) where you can go for shopping.
Among the most important monuments in the vicinity you can see “Porta San Sebastiano” and the Aurelian Walls. Also visit Caffarella Park, Villa Lais and Villa dei Quintili, the market in Via Sannio, open every day, similar to “Porta Portese”, and of course the Basilica of St. John.
Do not miss the Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, with the relics of the cross, and the Basilica of St. Mary Help of Christians, one of the so-called “minor basilicas” of Rome (certainly not for its beauty).
The neighborhood is very well connected with the city center, airports and railway stations thanks to underground and surface public transport.
Near the apartment there are clubs offering special events, such as messaging, karaoke and jazz concerts and rock music. If you want to start the evening with a dinner, and then go dancing, you can try one of the many restaurant-disco that enliven the nights of Rome (five minute walk).
If you would prefer a good pizza in a simple but comfortable way, there’s more than a good pizzeria nearby.
