San Giovanni neighborhood

San Giovanni is the name that locals use to talk about the Appio Latino area.
It’s a lively neighborhood adjacent to the city centre and home to a varied mix of shops, street markets, new restaurants and bars. San Giovanni is well known for its Renaissance buildings, the Via Sannio flea market and the beautiful old Roman cobblestone streets. The area is also wellconnected to the city center thanks to the Metro A and Metro C subway lines , the streetcar line 3 (which connects you to Trastevere, Testaccio and San Lorenzo!) and several busses as well (However you can also easily reach the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia and the Baths of Caracalla by foot).
